2012 Courage Award Winners

Dana Howard
Dana Howard is a 45 year old woman who has had to have all four of her extremities amputated following sepsis and other medical issues. She is currently being fit for her upper extremity prostheses and hopes to be fit for her lower ones as soon as her current wounds heal. She has been a patient three different times. She has displayed great courage during her journey.

Boston Tracy
Boston is a 20 year old male who last year was a college student at UCO. He was admitted to INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation with a traumatic head injury and multiple fractures after being hit by a drunk driver. Boston pushed two of his friends out of the way and took the biggest brunt of the car. Boston was actually pronounced dead at one time. Boston and his mother are currently speakers for a Victim’s Impact Panel. He is scheduled to go back to college this fall.

John Waldenville
John is a 61 year old male who had a gunshot wound to the head, resulting in a traumatic head injury, while getting robbed at Cattlemen’s steak house. He has been through in-patient rehab, out-patient rehab and aquatics. His story is remarkable. He is a walking miracle who always has a kind word and a smile for everyone he meets.
