Letter from the President

Happy New Year to you all!

Many of you have called about when the 2014 Shared Savings Distribution would be available. I am pleased to share that those checks are in the process of being distributed. In fact, most of you should have received your check as of this letter. As for the delay, we underwent an internal audit process that was quite rigorous but very necessary. There are many rules and regulations to be followed and we passed without any significant issues. This will prime the pump for next year and will make it easier for a more timely 2015 distribution. Please remember that we have to wait until mid-2016 until we know the results for 2015, as it takes a significant amount of time for all the data to come through the claims process. Again, thanks for your patience. For shared savings questions, please contact Evan Galt, INTEGRIS Health Partners operations manager at evan.galt@integrisok.com or 405-420-4689.

2016 promises to be an interesting year for INTEGRIS Health Partners. We have begun to see performance data on some of the commercial insurance products contracted with INTEGRIS Health Partners. As this data becomes more robust, we will have the tools to improve quality and decrease costs for a broader population. In addition to our efforts with population health, for the first time INTEGRIS Health Partners will be able to influence the inpatient setting in a consistent and measurable manner using reliable data. We plan to do this through the implementation of two projects: the Advisory Board Crimson Continuum of Care (CCC) project and Hospital Efficiency Improvement Program (HEIP). Both of these endeavors have huge potential to improve our efficiency and quality. They also will be a key factors to sustaining a more patient-centered treatment process.

Change can be difficult. We are being asked to change almost everything we do. When you stop and think about all we have on our plates these days, it can be overwhelming. Accountable Care Organizations, Meaningful Use, Physician Quality Reporting System, bundled payments, metrics for this and for that, and too many others to name. The change is here and we are not going back to paper charts, no computers and minimal interference. We must continue to do the best we can for our patients and be their advocates. Remember the vast majority of them do not want to be sick or in the doctor’s office. They are even more stressed out and confused than we are. If you have recently tried to figure out which health insurance plan to purchase, you know what I mean! Resist the urge to give up and become sullen. We are doing important work that improves many peoples’ lives. Our patients need our help and support. Striving to deliver care in a patient-centered and efficient manner is the goal of INTEGRIS Health Partners. Doing so will ensure our success despite any changes that come our way.

Sincerely,

Carl Raczkowski, M.D.
President, INTEGRIS Health Partners

Advisory Board - Hospital Efficiency Improvement Program

Many of you are now familiar with IHP’s involvement with the Advisory Board Company and our implementation of their Crimson Continuum of Care (CCC) software, which is nearly complete.  In addition to the CCC engagement, IHP is teaming with the Advisory Board on a hospital efficiency improvement program (HEIP) that will establish various measures across the INTEGRIS system at the inpatient level. This process will be led by the IHP Inpatient Collaborative, comprised of approximately 20 physicians of various specialties from across the INTEGRIS metro. IHP is currently in the initial stages of developing the HEIP, but please keep an eye on future newsletters and ONEmails for additional detail.
