 Letter from the President

PATIENT-CENTERED MEDICAL CARE: We all discuss it and want to embrace it. It is, however, very easy to lose sight of what our focus should be. INTEGRIS Health Partners has been operationalizing our network for the commercial market for the past year. There have been meetings and more meetings. Seminars, webinars, consultant presentations and data analysis sessions have been plentiful. There is so much we have to do so we can bring patient-centered care to the masses. I fear we have lost focus on the patient and what they need. It isn’t anyone’s fault. It is just the reality of the world today.

I have been out educating local and regional employers about INTEGRIS Health Partners and how we can assist with managing their health plans. One of - if not the main focus of – the questions from human resource directors and employees has been about access to care. There is palpable angst that a “new” health care plan will restrict access when patients need it. There is fear that many doctors do not accept new patients. The patient experience generates more questions than the co-pays and deductibles. Everyone expects their out-of-pocket costs to go up. It is a given that the quality of care will be excellent. What the patients fear is that they will not be listened to, not be treated with respect and no one will answer the phone or return their calls. Frankly, it is painful to hear about their experiences at times. Too close to home!

The patient-centered customer service experience can make or break us. No matter how good the food is at your favorite restaurant, a bad waiter and bad service always lessens your likelihood to go back there or recommend it to others.

We have earned the privilege to take care of other people in their times of need.

IT IS ABOUT THE PATIENT, NOT US.

With all of the changes in health care keeping patients at the center must be the top priority. Our obligation is to treat our patients with respect and compassion. If physicians don’t take the lead, how can you expect the care delivery team to do so? Frequently remind yourself, your colleagues and your staff that it is about the patient, not us. A simple concept that is hard to follow when there is so much to do.

Sincerely,

Carl Raczkowski, M.D.
President, INTEGRIS Health Partners

ICD-10 Coding Education

On Oct. 1, 2015, INTEGRIS transitioned to ICD-10-CM code sets, which replaced the ICD-9-CM code sets that are currently used to report medical diagnoses and inpatient procedures. The ICD-10-CM code sets represent a fundamental overhaul of the current system.

Online Training for Physicians

INTEGRIS continues to offer physicians free ICD-10-CM/PCS training focused on clinical documentation.

  • Training will focus on documenting for ICD-10-CM/PCS, by specialty.
  • Online, self-paced, bite-sized and at no charge.
  • Accessible on any device with a web browser.
  • CME certification available upon completion of ICD-10 training.

ICD-10 training is an approved educational metric opportunity for INTEGRIS Health Partners. Providers must complete all assigned modules or, if they are assigned more than 100 modules, then they should complete 100 modules to earn the educational metric. Please log in and begin training now.

The deadline to complete 100 modules or all modules for your specialty—whichever is lower is December 31, 2015.

For all ICD-10-related questions, please contact Emily Vollmeier, INTEGRIS system director of medical coding, at emily.vollmeier@integrisok.com.  Emily can also assist you to remove modules that do not apply to your practice.

2014 Shared Savings Distribution Timeline

INTEGRIS Health Partners has received the analysis of 2014 claims data from Mercer, LLC, the company with whom we contracted to analyze the claims experience for the INTEGRIS Health Plan. Thanks to the hard work of network providers INTEGRIS Health Partners has achieved a third consecutive year of shared savings.

Individual physician scorecards have been reviewed in order to determine the exact amounts that will be shared with qualifying physicians. That analysis has been presented to INTEGRIS Health’s new internal auditing partner, Protiviti, to ensure the shared savings plan was calculated correctly and physicians met the eligibility criteria. Once the audit has been completed, the shared savings checks will be distributed, most likely beginning this month. Please keep an eye on your mailbox or your payroll account.

For shared savings questions, please contact Evan Galt, INTEGRIS Health Partners operations manager, at evan.galt@integrisok.com or 405-420-4689.
