HUGGA T. BEAR

Many people, especially children, experience a certain amount of anxiety when visiting a hospital for a procedure. Upon arrival at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center for care, each child receives a plush Hugga T. Bear, a friend who will stay with the child from the department where they begin their journey through surgery, X-ray or other treatment centers, to recovery and home. In a child’s world, teddy bears listen, love and heal through hugs. Hugga T. promotes friendship and helps the child find comfort. At INTEGRIS Baptist, caregivers see the impact of Hugga T. Bear’s presence and participation in the medical process. The bears help children cope with fear, anxiety and separation.

INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation Hospital

Oklahoma’s foremost system of inpatient, outpatient, and community-based rehabilitative care for children and adults with acquired brain injury (traumatic brain injury, stroke and brain tumors), spinal cord injury, amputee or multiple trauma care. Located on the campus of INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center, the freestanding, three-story facility extends its inpatient services onto floors at INTEGRIS Baptist.
