ENID - Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women. Every minute, someone in the United States dies from a heart disease-related event, including heart attack and stroke. Heart disease claims about as many lives each year as cancer, chronic lower respiratory diseases, accidents and diabetes mellitus combined.

A national program launched today to incentivize electronic health records has been in place at INTEGRIS Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid for 10 months, and officials say it has improved patient care.
