With diabetes, the more you know, the better your quality of life. At the INTEGRIS Grand Lake Diabetes Center in Grove, our staff empowers patients with the knowledge necessary to take control and successfully self-manage their diabetes.
The center offers these outpatient classes taught by two Certified Diabetes Educators:
- Diabetes disease process
- Nutrition (meal planning, eating out and reading food labels)
- Exercise
- Medications - pills and insulin
- Blood glucose monitoring
- Preventing, detecting and treating complications
- Stress management
- Foot and eye care
- Diabetes and pregnancy
Medicare and many insurance plans cover diabetes education. For those without insurance, several financial options are available.
Diabetes Support Group
Our support group meets the second Thursday of each month from 12:30pm to 1:30pm (except the months of July and December) at the INTEGRIS Honey Creek Retirement Village at 2200 Har-Ber Road in Grove. For more information, please call 918-786-4461.
