May Day … May Day … Sound the Alarm!

OK, that may seem a little over the top, but when a person with celiac disease eats foods containing gluten, the body definitely has a very negative response. In time, that response can damage the GI tract, and cause chronic fatigue and malnutrition.

In honor of Celiac Awareness Month in May, Pam Patty, RD, LD, will discuss the relationship between gluten and celiac, along with a focus on choosing and cooking with grains that are gluten free. A recipe will be demonstrated and complimentary samples provided. Please join us from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the basement auditorium of INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center, 4401 S. Western Ave.
