Yoga for Kids

Looking for ways to engage your kids and teach them the art of relaxation at the same time? Enroll your children in the Yoga for Kids and Mandala Arts class held at the INTEGRIS James L. Hall Jr. Center for Mind, Body and Spirit.
Deadlines, busy schedules and daily demands can all add up to undue stress. It’s something adults face regularly, but children also suffer from it as well. One proven form of relaxation is yoga. Great for any age, yoga can help develop inner strength, confidence and self-esteem resulting in a happier childhood and a healthier adult – emotionally and mentally, as well as physically.

Classes are held from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 21 through March 11, at the James L. Hall Jr. Center for Mind, Body and Spirit at 3366 NW Expressway, Suite 100. We ask that you attend all eight sessions as each class builds on the next. Kids will learn yoga poses, belly breathing, calming techniques, journaling and affirmations; play games, and create a sand mandala. Ages 7 to 12 years of age. Cost: $30. Class size is limited.

If you’re growing wary of all the hype, join Karen Massey, RD, LD, for an honest discussion about setting realistic, livable goals. Karen will discuss the beauty of making small changes consistently instead of attempting big changes inconsistently.
