Integrative Medicine 101

What is integrative medicine? Join the INTEGRIS James L. Hall Jr. Center for Mind, Body and Spirit in welcoming Juli Johnson, APRN, as she explains the principles of integrative medicine, a combination of conventional western medicine with complementary treatments such as acupuncture, massage, yoga and stress reduction techniques.

Integrative medicine is evidence based practice that focuses on the body’s innate healing response. It is a philosophy of a whole-person approach designed to treat the person, not just the disease, creating a partnership between patient and practitioner. Integrative medicine is heavily focused on life style modification and preventive measures to promote wellness for the mind, body and spirit. There is a heavy emphasis on diet, exercise, and mindfulness for health promotion that is individualized for each person.

Don’t miss this informative presentation and begin taking an active role in your own health care.

The presentation will be held at 6 p.m. in Conference Rooms J, K and L of the Raymond A. Young Conference Center at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center.
