Dear Colleagues,

Carl Raczkowski, M.D.The next several months will be very important for INTEGRIS Health Partners. We will really be getting down to the business of managing our patient population. This is where the rubber meets the road, and we can begin to improve the health of our patients.

Our 2013 single scorecard for quality, process improvement, and physician involvement will be rolled out in its final form very soon. This important instrument will mark the beginning of more significant measurements of our quality and efficiency. The data that flows from this will let us see how well we are doing and where we need to improve. The data will be analyzed and shared with the group. The opportunity for shared savings and physician payment from the bonus pool will flow from this process. The guideline for exactly how this will occur is in development and will be shared with you soon.

IHP committees will be taking deeper looks at our clinical initiatives and opportunities to deliver higher quality and more efficient care. IHP needs your help to make this happen. Several of you have stopped me in the hall and offered to help. Now is the time to step up. For IHP to be successful we need to have more than just the usual 10% of physicians involved. Broad-based physician involvement has been shown to be the most important predictor of success in groups such as IHP. We will need members to participate in task forces and focus groups to build our next set of clinical initiatives and problem solve areas that we find need work. Generic medication prescribing for specific disease or specialty areas has an opportunity for huge potential cost savings. We will need input from those who have a stake in the game. Physician input is imperative. If you are interested and haven’t been contacted IHP or IHP has yet to reach out to you, then get in touch with Cindi Ruegge at cindi.ruegge@integrisok.com.

Finally, I want to let you know about some changes in the Board makeup. I have been playing the dual role of Chairman of the Board and President of IHP for the past few months. I have officially accepted the position of President and Dr. Matt Britt will be Chairman of the Board. Thank you, Matt, for accepting this role.

We will continue to keep you up to date on the issues affecting IHP. Do not hesitate to contact Matt or myself at any time.

Carl Raczkowski, M.D.

INTEGRIS Health Partners presents a unique opportunity to learn the latest in health care transformation and the increasing importance of employer benefit design. Hear how the integrated, value-based strategy is evolving into the model of health care delivery. Bruce W. Sherman, M.D., FCCP, FACOEM, is the consulting corporate medical director for a major U.S. employer. Sherman received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. He is board certified in internal medicine.

IHP network physicians will earn operational credit for attendance.

Patient Centered Medical Home and INTEGRIS Physician Services

INTEGRIS Physician Services has been chosen to participate in a project with CMMI (Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation). The three-year commitment focuses efforts on building a patient centered medical home. Consultants in the project are VHA, TransforMed, and Phytel. IPS and the consultants have already had their initial meetings. The project will focus on patient participation, staff working at the highest levels of their licenses, improvement in health care delivery and patient outcomes, improvement in population health, efficiency, and cost reduction. INTEGRIS is one of fifteen systems nationwide chosen for this project; we are honored and fortunate to have been selected. Five IHP family care clinics are participating – Norman, Southwest, South Penn, Central, and Yukon. Once these sites master the changes, the PCMH will be rolled out to other sites in IPS in a ripple effect.

Do your patients need Care Coordination?

Do you have patients who would benefit from the Care Coordination Program? INTEGRIS employees and their dependents who have an IHP PCP and have been diagnosed with diabetes, asthma, or cardiovascular disease may qualify for the program. In an attempt to enroll more members in this essential service we sent over a 1,000 invitation letters to members who may qualify based on having one of the covered chronic conditions. Referring is simple – just have the patient contact Care Coordination staff at 951-2504 to enroll. Information regarding qualifications and benefits can be found at www.integrisok.com/carecoordination.
