Dr. Elkins is a cardiovascular thoracic surgeon with INTEGRIS Cardiovascular Physicians at INTEGRIS Heart Hospital. He attended Stanford University in California for his B.S. in Biology and completed medical school at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Dr. Elkins is board certified in surgery/thoracic surgery and underwent HeartMate II Training at Johns Hopkins. He completed a research fellowship and residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. and affiliated hospitals under the department of cardiac and thoracic surgery.
Dr. Elkins is affiliated with the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, UNOS primary Lung Surgeons, Southern Thoracic Society and the H. William Scott, Jr. Society. His areas of interest are the Ross Procedure, Heart and Lung Transplantation, Ventricular Assist Device and Endovascular Aneurysm Repair.
His interests outside of practicing medicine include hunting, snowboarding and wake boarding.
