Catheterization Lab

INTEGRIS Health Edmond features Edmond’s only 24/7 heart catheterization lab staffed by board certified interventional cardiologists and experienced technicians. EMS personnel are connected directly to the hospital emergency room via LifeNetTM technology, allowing secure transmittal of patient data from the field directly to the hospital. LifeNet assists the staff in preparing for the patient before they arrive at the hospital saving valuable time … and lives.

Consisting of one of the most cutting-edge vascular imaging systems available, the Edmond lab is the first of its kind in the state.

Edmond's heart catheterization lab offers shared cardiac and vascular system technology.

  • Cardiac and peripheral procedures in a single setting
  • Trusted, established physicians and trained, experienced staff
  • Minimal radiation exposure

“This X-ray system features dual plane technology, which essentially allows the opportunity for two different procedures to be performed within the same room,” said Scott Tulane, director of INTEGRIS Health Edmond’s radiology department. “It allows the flexibility to perform both cardiac and peripheral exams, enhancing productivity and improving the exam experience for patients.”

The system is used for a wide variety of radiology and cardiology applications, including procedures that study the extensive cardiovascular system to identify blocked arteries. Clogged arteries can cause potentially life-threatening conditions such as stroke, heart attack and aneurysms, making the ability to locate these arteries critical.

Additionally, the system’s unique design enables physicians to view different anatomical areas without repositioning the patient. Most cath lab technology requires clinicians to work from the right side only, limiting procedures. Physicians can also process and view images in real-time, which helps speed up diagnosis and treatment planning.

INTEGRIS Health Edmond’s onsite cardiologists and radiologists use the lab alongside an experienced nursing and technical staff with more than 50 years of shared cardiac/interventional care experience.

“This will enable us to better serve the communities within northern Oklahoma, Logan and Lincoln counties. The ability to conduct these services and provide treatments for heart related illnesses in Edmond will increase survivability of these disease processes,” Tulane said.
