INTEGRIS Health is dedicated to the principle that all patients, employees, physicians and visitors deserve to be treated with dignity, respect and courtesy. The organization is relentless in striving to adhere to these principles. Further information regarding the INTEGRIS Health organizational code of ethics is available upon request.

CARF Accreditation

The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, known as CARF, is the accrediting body for inpatient rehabilitation programs. INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation pursued accreditation for general inpatient rehabilitation as well as, for the first time, a disease specific accreditation for stroke specialty programs. CARF awarded JimThorpe a three-year accreditation in both categories.

“When patients are in need of rehabilitation, where they choose to receive services is a critical decision,” says Sharon Smeltzer, vice president of INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation Services. “CARF accreditation is one way patients and families can be assured that they are choosing a reputable rehabilitation program.”

This type of accreditation is granted only to organizations that show substantial fulfillment of the standards established by CARF. An organization receiving a three-year accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated that its programs and services are of the highest quality.
