Mondays and Wednesdays
INTEGRIS Senior FitClub
Crossings Community Center, 10255 N. Pennsylvania Ave.
These are free to the public, ongoing fitness classes specifically designed for seniors, that focus on cardiovascular fitness, strength conditioning and flexibility. The 9 a.m. class is for the more active senior who can get down and up off the floor, and the 10 a.m. class is done in a chair or standing behind the chair for balance. At 11 a.m. is Zumba Gold, a dance class with a variety of Latin-style music designed specifically seniors. Wear loose comfortable clothes and athletic shoes, and bring water. Esperanto – Spanish Made Easy
Discover the joy of learning the Spanish language! In less than a month you will be able to converse in a language spoken around the world. If grammar scares you, don’t worry! Tim Rice, your instructor, will tame your fears. The class will be held on Mondays in July from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the INTEGRIS Third Age Life Center, 5100 N. Brookline, Suite 100. There is no charge for the class but registration is required.

Eat Well, Move More, Be Well
This informative four week program is aimed at helping older adults choose wholesome foods and adopt a more active lifestyle. Registered dietitian Karen Massey will make recommendations that focus on choosing a calorie-balanced diet with emphasis on a heart healthy eating pattern. You will also receive age appropriate exercise tips including reducing the risk of falling, strength conditioning and better balance. The class will be held from noon to 1 p.m. at INTEGRIS Health Edmond, 4801 INTEGRIS Parkway, Edmond, OK 73034. There is no charge for the program, but registration is required.

Surgical Weight Loss Seminar
Since 2006, the INTEGRIS Weight Loss Center has performed hundreds of primary surgical weight loss procedures, exceeding the national average in all weight loss categories. The center is designated as an accredited center of excellence facility by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program.
Join Hamilton S. Le, M.D., medical director of the INTEGRIS Weight Loss Center, for a free informational seminar to learn more about the variety of surgical weight loss procedures available depending on your needs including the new ReShape procedure. ReShape is the first-of-its-kind non-surgical weight loss procedure that uses advanced integrated dual balloon technology to help people with mild to moderate obesity lose weight.
The free presentation will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the James L. Henry Auditorium at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center, 3300 NW Expressway.

Better Breathers Club: Lung Disorders Support Group
Are you ready to breathe easier? If you have been diagnosed with a lung disorder such as COPD, asthma, bronchitis, emphysema or cystic fibrosis, you could benefit from the Better Breathers Club at INTEGRIS Health Edmond.
Better Breathers offers you the opportunity to learn to cope with lung disorders and their symptoms while receiving the support of others who share in your struggles. Each session features educational presentations on a wide range of topics.

Join Dena O’Leary, M.D., board certified pelvic floor and reconstructive surgery physician, also known as a urogynecologist, as she discusses the myth that women have to just live with the disruptive and often embarrassing symptoms of urinary and fecal incontinence. Contrary to what many women believe, incontinence doesn’t have to be something women must endure as they age. Dr. O’Leary will discuss the causes and treatment options to restore an active lifestyle and overall quality of life. This support group is offered only for caregivers of patients with any chronic medical condition. Caregivers will be able to connect with others, express their feelings, and gain insights from those going through similar challenges.

Every week, nine older adults die and 124 are hospitalized from a fall-related injury in Oklahoma. What are the conditions that make you more likely to fall? What factors are involved in balance and how can you reduce your risk of falling?
