INTEGRIS and Mayo Frequently Asked Questions

INTEGRIS and Mayo Clinic Working Together for the Health of Oklahomans

Q: What is the Mayo Clinic Care Network?
A: The Mayo Clinic Care Network is a collaboration that connects INTEGRIS physicians with Mayo Clinic specialists and Mayo Clinic resources. INTEGRIS health care providers will use electronic communication tools to access the latest Mayo Clinic knowledge and expertise.
Q: Why did Mayo Clinic choose INTEGRIS to be a member in the Mayo Clinic Care Network?
A: INTEGRIS was selected to join the Mayo Clinic Care Network because it shares a common philosophy, commitment and mission to improve the delivery of healthcare through high-quality, data-driven, evidence-based medical care and treatment. In addition to our commitment to providing exceptional patient care, INTEGRIS had to pass a rigorous Mayo Clinic review process based on quality, service and operational criteria.
Q: Why did Mayo Clinic create the Mayo Clinic Care Network?
A: Collaborating with other medical providers to provide the best possible care for patients has always been part of Mayo Clinic’s culture. The Mayo Clinic Care Network is intended to help Mayo and community care organizations work closer together — in new ways — to enhance the lives of patients.
Q: Why is INTEGRIS collaborating with Mayo Clinic?
A: INTEGRIS has a long history of service excellence. INTEGRIS has made tremendous progress in our approach to care based on the latest medical knowledge and best practices from leaders in healthcare. This new collaboration will support us as we continually seek out the latest research and treatment recommendations from the experts at Mayo Clinic.
Q: What is the benefit of this collaboration to each organization?
A: INTEGRIS will benefit from the latest research and treatment recommendations from the experts at Mayo Clinic. INTEGRIS already has a strong team of physicians; Mayo Clinic will provide an added bonus of expertise that will help INTEGRIS physicians provide an even higher level of care to its patients.
Q: What does this formal collaboration mean for patients?
A:

INTEGRIS physicians will have access to the latest Mayo Clinic expertise and clinical care resources to use when treating patients. These resources include:

  • AskMayoExpert, an online point-of-care tool designed by Mayo Clinic physicians. This clear, concise resource offers disease management, care guidelines, treatment recommendations and reference materials for a wide variety of medical conditions.
  • eConsults that serve to connect INTEGRIS physicians with Mayo Clinic experts when INTEGRIS physicians want additional input regarding a patient’s care.
Q: How will this collaboration affect the cost of health care for INTEGRIS patients?
A: The collaboration between INTEGRIS and the Mayo Clinic will not add any cost to the services provided to INTEGRIS patients. Patients will receive the added benefit of Mayo Clinic expertise and resources supplementing the high quality care already provided by their local INTEGRIS physicians. We see it as an investment in our community.
Q: Will this agreement mean patients will be referred to Mayo Clinic?
A: There is no obligation for referrals to Mayo Clinic. The primary goal of INTEGRIS and Mayo Clinic through the Mayo Clinic Care Network is to help patients gain the benefits of additional medical expertise while continuing to receive their care as close to home as possible.
Q: How will Mayo and INTEGRIS physicians communicate and work together?
A: INTEGRIS already has a strong medical team of physicians. Through the network relationship, INTEGRIS physicians have access to the latest Mayo Clinic expertise and clinical care resources through the use of electronic care reference and communication tools.
Q: What other health systems are members of the Mayo Clinic Care Network?
A: The network consists of more than 35 organizations that access Mayo Clinic from locations across the United States as well as Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
Q: Is it a merger? Does this mean INTEGRIS could be purchased by Mayo?
A: This agreement is not an acquisition or merger. Mayo Clinic Care Network members like INTEGRIS remain independent, community-based health care providers.
Q: Which INTEGRIS facilities will be affected? How?
A: All providers affiliated with INTEGRIS will have access to the Mayo Clinic Care Network and the resources and expertise of the Mayo Clinic.
