How would you look with a handlebar mustache? What about a Fu Manchu? Join members of the Oklahoma City Barons hockey team and INTEGRIS Men’s Health University to celebrate a new look for the month of November. Grow a mustache to celebrate Movember!
Movember was started in Australia in 2003 as a way to promote men’s health and create awareness about the importance of men taking care of their health.
Since that time, Movember has turned into a global health movement to raise awareness and funds for cancers that impact men. Since 2009, Movember raised more than $45 million around the world with more than one million donors.
For the second straight season, members of the Oklahoma City Barons team and coaching staff will show unity and grow a mustache to raise awareness for Movember. The OKC Barons and INTEGRIS Men’s Health University have teamed up to create a variety of events and programs to celebrate Movember 2011.
- OKC Barons players grow mustaches to promote men’s cancer awareness in November.
- Goal is to raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.
- Men and women who wear real or fake mustaches get $4 off their ticket to any game in November – available only at box office on the day of the game.
- November game dates: Nov. 11, 12, 18 and 19
- OKC Barons will offer a donation site for the team to raise money for men’s cancer awareness at movember.com.
