Community Service

At INTEGRIS Miami Hospital, the physicians, employees and volunteers take their education and skills into the community to make a difference in the lives of local residents.

From providing free clinical services to screenings and educational programs, INTEGRIS Miami Hospital contributes more than $42,000 in community service programs and volunteers more than 2,100 hours of service.

A few of the community programs include the following.

Blood Pressure Screenings
Free weekly screenings at businesses throughout the county

Corporate Health Screenings
Free health screenings provided on site at local industries

Memory Screening
Free to the community by local mental health professionals

Care Cart
First aid and ice water provided at the community sidewalk sale, annual chili cook off, and County Fair

County Fair
Hands-on demonstrations and exhibits, which promote health and safety at the annual county fair

Ottawa County Senior Citizens’ Day
Free screenings, luncheon, educational seminars and informational booths

K.I.D.S. Program
Free car seats, diapers and formula provided to new mothers with limited financial resources

Meals on Wheels
Weekday low-cost meal preparation for homebound community residents

Safe Sitters
Safe and responsible babysitting education classes

United Way
The agency’s largest employee contributions and support

Speaker’s Bureau
Speakers available to the community for discussion of health care topics, hospital programs and services

CPR Classes
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation classes

Job Shadowing
Health care career exposure for area youth

Lunch and Learn
Quarterly lecture series on issues relevant to seniors 55 and older

Prenatal Classes
Nutrition and postpartum education offered to expectant couples

Hospital Tours
Educational tours for area students

Tar Wars
Campaign designed to educate youth on the dangers of smoking

Third Graders Go To Work
Area third grade students spend the day at the hospital to learn about careers in health care

Project Graduation and Safe Prom
Sponsorship of area safe graduation and prom parties

Alzheimer’s Support Group
Alzheimer’s support for family members and caregivers

Better Breathers
Monthly support group for area residents with breathing disorders

Diabetes Support Group
Monthly support group for diabetic patients and their family members
