Stanley Hupfeld Academy at Western Village Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Ten years ago, Western Village Elementary School was facing the possibility of closure. Enrollment had declined and test scores were in the teens and twenties. INTEGRIS Health got involved in 1998, by starting an after school and summer program. The health care system began operating the school full time in the fall of 2000 when Western Village opened as one of the state’s first public charter schools, Western Village Academy Inc., serving the children in its attendance area rather than selecting students from a pool of applicants.
