Offering innovative and comprehensive treatment for our patients, the stroke centers provide in-house coverage through neurologists, stroke coordinators and more than 230 specially trained nurses and medical personnel to ensure patients receive top quality, evidence-based stroke care and vastly improved, long-term outcomes.
The stroke centers are two of 486 hospitals in the United States and two of only four hospitals in Oklahoma to receive the American Heart Association/Stroke Association's 2014 Target: Stroke Honor Roll Award for their commitment to and success in improving care for stroke patients.
Certified by the Joint Commission, the stroke centers have become regional referral centers for community hospitals throughout the state, and serve as hub sites for the INTEGRIS TeleStroke Network. They are also integrated with INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation which is one of only three rehabilitation programs in Oklahoma that has CARF accreditation for its stroke specialty program. This type of accreditation is granted only to organizations that show substantial fulfillment of the standards established by CARF. An organization receiving a three-year accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated that its programs and services are of the highest quality.
Your vigilance and understanding of the warning signs, coupled with our commitment to providing a higher standard of care can minimize the impact of stroke and keep you and your loved ones healthy.
Every 40 seconds, someone in the United States suffers a stroke. If treated quickly enough, the effects of the stroke can be decreased by as much as 30 percent.
