About INTEGRIS James R. Daniel Stroke Center of Oklahoma
The INTEGRIS James R. Daniel Stroke Center of Oklahoma™, located on the campus of INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center, trains medical professionals to recognize and respond to patients experiencing a stroke, and educates the public about how to recognize the signs and symptoms of stroke. Offering innovative and comprehensive treatment to our patients, the dedicated unit, provides in-house coverage through a neurology-hospitalist, clinical nurse specialist, and specialized trained nurses, practicing under national care guidelines and the Brain Attack Coalition Criteria, to ensure patients receive top quality evidence-based stroke care.
The stroke center has been certified by the Joint Commission since 2007, has become a regional referral center for community hospitals throughout the state of Oklahoma, and is a member of the INTEGRIS TeleStroke Network.; The James R. Daniel Stroke Center of Oklahoma has also received recognition as a "Center of Excellence" for the INTEGRIS Health System.
About Us
Every 45 seconds, someone in the U.S. suffers a stroke. If treated quickly enough, the effects of the stroke can be decreased by as much as 30 percent. Unfortunately, not all hospitals have the necessary personnel, equipment and organization required to rapidly and effectively treat these patients.
INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center is an exception. Southwest has a comprehensive Stroke Center that includes one of the largest stroke units in Oklahoma.
