INTEGRIS Weight Loss Center in Oklahoma City offers multiple options to help you achieve your weight loss goals. Once other weight loss options have been exhausted, surgical procedures like the following can be considered.
Adjustable Gastric Band - In this surgical weight loss procedure, known as the Adjustable Gastric Band, a silicone elastomer band is placed around the upper part of the stomach to create a small stomach pouch which can hold only a small amount of food.
Gastric Bypass - In this surgical weight loss procedure, stapling creates a small (15 to 20cc) stomach pouch. The remainder of the stomach is not removed, but is completely stapled shut and divided from the stomach pouch. The outlet from this newly formed pouch empties directly into the lower portion of the jejunum, thus bypassing calorie absorption.
Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy - Several studies have shown that this surgical weight loss procedure can be performed with less perioperative mortality than a gastric bypass procedure. The weight loss from a vertical sleeve gastrectomy is felt to be more significant than with an adjustable band initially but somewhat less dramatic than with a gastric bypass.
We are currently NOT offering any revisional bariatric procedures. This includes any patients that have previously undergone lap gastric bypass, lap band, or vertical banded gastroplasty and are now seeking revision to another procedure.
