Brain Injury Rehabilitation

Brain Injury Rehabilitation

We walk the journey with you!!

Rehabilitation of the individual with a brain injury is most often a lifelong journey and is not confined to the walls of a rehabilitation hospital. Each day our physicians, therapy and nursing staff work with our patients and their families to help mend broken bodies; broken both physically and psychologically. INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation offers both inpatient and outpatient brain injury rehabilitation and recovery programs to patients of all ages whose disabilities vary in severity. Our comprehensive range of services treat individuals with brain injuries, both traumatic and non-traumatic.

The impact of brain injury may be:

  • Cognitive changes, problems with memory, judgement, problem-solving or any combination of these
  • Personality changes, problems with agitation
  • Weakness on one side or both sides of the body (one side = hemiparesis)
  • Impaired balance or coordination
  • Speech and language difficulties (aphasia)
  • Trouble swallowing (dysphagia)
  • Loss of emotional control and changes in mood
  • Difficulty performing daily tasks
  • Impaired bowel or bladder control
  • Fatigue
  • Depression
  • Easily overstimulated by environment
