Blake O’Brien, M.D., is an internal medicine physician at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center.
He graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City. Dr. O’Brien completed his residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
He is passionate about patients and the patient experience. Dr. O’Brien has neurofibromatosis type II, and went through a nine-hour brain surgery in 2007 at the age of 20 to remove a tumor on his auditory nerve. This was a life-changing experience that spurred his interest in medicine. Since being a patient himself, he is very interested in making sure that his patients feel that he listens to their concerns and understands their goals for their care and their life when they leave the office.
“I love people and making people feel comfortable in their own skin regardless of their conditions.”
Dr. O’Brien grew up about two miles from INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center and has had multiple procedures, surgeries and two hospital stays there. He feels that every experience was outstanding, and knew he wanted to work there when he finished residency. At home, he enjoys cooking and grilling out with family. He also likes to play golf and soccer. In his spare time, Dr. O’Brien volunteers at public clinics and spends time with his wife, Wendy, and their dogs.
