Charles Groves, M.D., is medical director of the INTEGRIS Comprehensive Breast Center of Oklahoma. He graduated from medical school at the University of Oklahoma and completed his residency at Scott and White Hospital, Texas A&M, and a breast fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
“My passion lies in educating women about mammography since there is often fear and confusion surrounding mammograms. When a patient is educated about the why and how of mammography, she is less likely to be afraid. I chose the field of breast imaging so I could develop relationships with the patients behind the images, and when a patient undergoes mammography at INTEGRIS Comprehensive Breast Center, they can expect that I will provide the utmost care and attention to their concerns and their imaging.”
One in eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. However, 90 percent of breast cancer can be treated successfully if the cancer is detected early. The INTEGRIS Comprehensive Breast Center of Oklahoma screens and diagnoses cancer in many ways.
