John Chaffin, M.D. performs heart and lung transplants as well as artificial hearts and all areas of open heart surgery. He is also the medical director of the cardiac intensive care unit and chief of the cardiovascular surgery department at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center.
Dr. Chaffin fulfilled a research and clinical fellowship in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery in Boston, Mass. and served as a visiting professor of surgery in Istanbul, Turkey. He has served as department chief of heart and lung transplantation for more than 10 years and is currently chief of surgery. His areas of interests are heart and lung transplantation, ventricular assist device and endovascular aneurysm repair.
