J. Michael Brewer, D.O. is a specialty critical care and acute circulatory support specialist with the INTEGRIS Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute, and provides critical care for patients with all manners of cardiac illness and severe respiratory failure, many of whom require mechanical circulatory support or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).
Dr. Brewer's academic interests are in the areas of health care quality and safety, and more specifically, the implementation of evidenced-based care in the form of clinical pathways for patients supported with ECMO.

Dr. Brewer previously served in a dual-appointment role in the departments of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and was an attending physician in the medical and cardiovascular intensive care units. At the University of Mississippi Medical Center, he founded and directed the state's first and only ICU recovery clinic, which deployed a real-time multidisciplinary care model with the goal of improving patients' recovery from critical illness.
