Muhammad Amir M.D., grew up in Pakistan where he also went to medical school.
He then got involved in basic science research and did extensive work on acute liver injury at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Later he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine (VA Bronx) at Mount Sinai. Due to his interest in liver diseases, he underwent fellowship training in Gastroenterology at Emory University Hospital where he also completed his fellowship in Transplant Hepatology. He continued his research on acute liver injury at Emory University as well. Dr. Amir is a triple American board-certified transplant hepatologist.
