Stewart Smith, M.D., FAANS, FACS is a board-certified neurosurgeon in Oklahoma City. Dr. Smith provides neurosurgical coverage and services in the inpatient and outpatient settings, with a dedication to excellence.
Dr. Smith graduated from the University of Oklahoma Medical School in 1984 and has been a licensed physician since 1985 in Oklahoma. He completed his residency in neurological surgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was chief resident from 1990 to 1991.
Dr. Smith is currently a Diplomat of the American Board of Neurological Surgery and has been on the Member Board of The American Board of Medical Specialists since 1994. He holds certifications as an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor, and Advanced Trauma Life Support.
He has maintained multiple professional memberships throughout his career, and remains a member of the American College of Surgeons, North American Spine Society, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and American Medical Association. Additionally, Dr. Smith is a member of the Joint Section on Neurotraumas and Critical Care of the AANS and CNS, and Joint Section of Disorders of the Spine and Peripheral Nerves of the AANS and CNS.
Dr. Smith has written multiple publications throughout his career, and served in the United States Naval Reserve as Lieutenant Commander from 1986 to 1998.
