INTEGRIS Bass Baptist Health Center

Occupational Medicine

According to one estimate, lost productivity from injury and illness costs American companies $60 billion each year. To have a healthy bottom line, businesses need healthy workers.

Preventing, diagnosing and treating injuries that occur in the workplace is the primary responsibility of an occupational health clinic. When the injury is minor, this care is hands-on. For more serious conditions, the clinic may provide referrals or case management.

INTEGRIS Bass offers one of the most comprehensive occupational medicine programs available. The hospital has been providing occupational health services to Northwest Oklahoma since 1993.

One function of occupational health is to provide pre-placement physicals. These physicals are to assure companies that new employees can fit the requirements of the job description.

Other services provided by the clinic include:

  • Breath alcohol tests

  • Pulmonary function tests
  • Medical respiratory evaluation

Our Team

We know that one of the most crucial elements of work-related injury management involves continual communication with the employer, employee and the insurance carrier. Our team is successful in communicating with all of these entities.

The clinic also partners with businesses to try and return an employee to work with limited or modified activity instead of keeping the employee home.

The clinic is staffed with physicians, mid-level providers, nurses and administrative coordinators.

As medical director, Michael Landes, M.D., supervises the operation of the clinic, including performing physicals and providing on-going care.

Dr. Landes graduated from the Ohio State University with a BS in human nutrition. He completed his Doctorate of Medicine from the Ohio State College of Medicine and completed a Family Medicine Residency at Mount Carmel Medical Center. He is board certified in Family Medicine.

He served in the United State Air Force before retiring as Lieutenant Colonel and the Chief of the Medical Staff, 71stMedical Group, Vance AFB. Dr. Landes joined the INTEGRIS Bass Occupational Medicine team in May of 2015.
