Volunteering at INTEGRIS Grove Hospital: Cherry Reds Giving Back for More than 50 Years

Since 1964 the Cherry Reds have been providing services to INTEGRIS Grove Hospital. Responsibilities include delivering beverages to patients, families and visitors, delivering mail to departments throughout the hospital, working in surgery, cafeteria, information desk at both the hospital and the Ambulatory Care Center, gift shop, administration, pastoral care, human resources, marketing, risk, Practice management, women's health, west/south, ACCESS, business services, accounting and purchasing.

Through the years, our volunteers have provided ultrasound equipment for women's health, lift equipment for physical therapy, the security system for the emergency room, patient beds, bone density equipment, ongoing supplies for the newborn hearing screening program, and educational software.

The warm smile and love they offer to patients and staff of INTEGRIS Grove cannot be surpassed.

Volunteering is not only satisfying, but convenient. In many areas, they can work around their own schedule. A typical work week for a volunteer is a 4-hour shift in the morning or afternoon once a week. For those 14 and over, the auxiliary also has a Volun-Teen program.

Become a Volunteer Today

Over the past two decades we have seen a growing body of research that indicates volunteering provides individual health benefits in addition to social ones. This research, which is presented by CNCS (Corporation for National and Community Service), in a report titled "The Health Benefits of Volunteering..." has established a strong relationship between volunteering and health. Those who volunteer have lower mortality rates, greater functional ability, and lower rates of depression later in life than those who do not volunteer. But don't take our word for it... join us and see for yourself!
