INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation

Spinal Cord Injury Survivor Group

Returning home after a spinal cord injury can be an overwhelming and challenging experience. Peer and family support are crucial for success after a life changing injury such as a spinal cord injury. INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation offers this survivor group to current and past patients as well as community and family members. Participants are all ages, levels of injury, and include newly injured as well as individuals who have been injured for many years. This unique blend allows for opportunities to discuss rehabilitation issues, obtain information and education regarding illness, injury and/or disability, and to share their own unique experiences during rehabilitation. Additionally, each survivor group is an education/open forum. Topics range from wellness and nutrition, to research/technology to travel, to complications.

The Jim Thorpe Spinal Cord Injury Survivor Group meets the first Thursday of every month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. This group meets in the Jones Education Room, located on the 1st Floor in the main INTEGRIS Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation building on the NE corner of the INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center campus: 4219 S. Western, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73109.
