The burn center is dedicated to total treatment and rehabilitation of acute, chronic and convalescing burn patients. At the INTEGRIS Paul Silverstein Burn Center, a comprehensive multi-disciplinary approach to burn care is provided through a team of highly skilled medical, nursing and support personnel. The primary goal of burn center care is not only to save the life of the burn patient, but also restore the patient to the highest level of social, psychological and vocational function possible.
These team members, joined by the family and the patient, work together to restore the patient to the highest level of social, psychological and vocational function possible.
Upon admission, all patients are taken to the hydrotherapy (tank room) area where they are cleansed. After the burn wounds are dressed, the patient is taken to his or her room, which is equipped with mechanical and monitoring equipment specially designed for the burn patient's needs.
