Mind Body Therapies

The mission of INTEGRIS is to improve the health of the people and communities we serve. We do this through our excellent medical offerings and also through mind body therapies. These complementary and integrative medicine treatments can assist you with improved health through relief from anxiety, stress, pain, nausea, insomnia and fatigue. Along with dietary and lifestyle changes, they can help you live more successfully with a chronic condition.

Therapies We Offer

Mind Body Therapies services are available at three locations in the metro: the INTEGRIS Cancer Institute, YMCA Healthy Living Center – INTEGRIS and the INTEGRIS James L. Hall Jr. Center for Mind, Body and Spirit in Building D on the INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center campus. At our YMCA Healthy Living Center – INTEGRIS location, you also have the health benefits of exercise programs.

Proven Benefits of Mind Body Therapies

Ongoing research is demonstrating that the way we live – how we think, what we eat, how we feel – affects our health. We know for a fact that stress inhibits healing and can contribute to illnesses such as depression, heart disease and diabetes. Our diets can affect the way we heal from many disease states such as cancer, and good nutrition is essential.

Working with your physicians and the medical plans they devise for your care, mind body therapies can support the reversal of some lifestyle consequences, prevent illnesses and reduce symptoms. The outcomes are:

  • Decreased pain
  • Improved sleep
  • Enhanced immune function and fewer infections
  • Lowered blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose levels
  • Improved bowel function
  • Less illness related anxiety and depression
  • Fewer complications after surgery
