What is ECMO?

Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) provides both cardiac and respiratory support to patients whose heart and/or lungs are so severely diseased or damaged that they can no longer serve their function, perhaps after a heart attack, cardiac surgery, pulmonary embolism, near drowning, or lung-related issues such as flu or pneumonia.

INTEGRIS Primary careFlu Season Is Here

Serious cases of the flu can affect anyone at any age. Our expert team is committed to reducing flu-related deaths across the region. The INTEGRIS Advanced Critical Care ECMO Team is available 24/7 to provide the lifesaving care you or a loved one may need.

If your loved one has any of the following, please ask your doctor to call the INTEGRIS ECMO Hotline for help:

  • On medicine to keep their blood pressure up
  • Showing no signs of improvement
  • On a machine that helps the heart pump better

Dr. El Banayosy, the Medical Director of the ECMO program, states, “The flu can be a serious illness. If the doctor of you or your loved one says the words “acute respiratory distress syndrome,” also known as ARDS, please ask them to call the INTEGRIS ECMO Hotline for a consult. Life can depend on it.”
