Patients are referred from across the country to the Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute for liver transplants.
Liver transplant candidates undergo tests to assess the patient's need for a transplant. The tests include blood tests, imaging, cardiac evaluation along with psycho/social evaluation. Additional testing may be needed.
See our full liver transplant referral criteria list.
We accept high risk adult candidates for transplant, including a number of patients who were turned down elsewhere due to the complexity of their disease. The program is Medicare certified.

The adult liver transplant survival rates published by the SRTR in August 2020 are listed in the table below. Information specific to each transplant center is available at www.srtr.org. If you do not have access to the Internet and wish to review any or all of the data available from SRTR, our transplant coordinators will be happy to provide you with a copy at your request.
