As the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines become more readily available to Oklahomans, INTEGRIS Health continues to answer questions from the public.
The most common concerns around the COVID-19 vaccine seem to stem from the speed in which it was developed and the possible side effects.
In the video below, Doug Horstmanshof, M.D., the Co-Director of the INTEGRIS Advanced Cardiac Care Program at Baptist Medical Center, gives a passionate plea as to why we should have confidence in the data – and the vaccine.
The vaccines currently available require two doses, meaning the second dose is needed to reach the reported efficacy. But even after both doses have been administered, INTEGRIS Health warns against a false sense of security.
It will still be some time before widespread vaccination will occur, so it is important to continue to practice good hand hygiene, proper mask wearing and social distancing.
