INTEGRIS to Build Treatment Facility for Addiction, Mental Illness and Trauma

INTEGRIS has broken ground on a new facility – INTEGRIS Arcadia Trails Center for Addiction Recovery.

Located on the Edmond campus, Arcadia Trails is an innovative response to a pervasive problem that continues to plague our state – addiction. Many of you know addiction is the leading cause of unintended death for Oklahomans between the ages of 25 and 64; yet we are ranked lowest in the country when it comes to available treatment options. Couple that with the fact that one in four Oklahomans suffers from some form of mental illness, and it is easy to see there is an undeniable and urgent need for more resources in our state. Although you may not be closely associated with someone with an addiction, we are all impacted through the effects of crime, abuse, neglect and homelessness.

As we are called by our mission to improve the health of the people and communities we serve, the Arcadia Trails treatment facility will simultaneously address the most common co-occurring conditions of addiction, mental illness and trauma. Similar in concept to highly acclaimed institutions in other parts of the U.S., Arcadia Trails will offer individualized treatment programs ranging up to 90 days and outpatient follow-up care, all on a medical campus. The facility will employ a multidisciplinary staff including an addictionologist, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, dietitians, therapists and clergy and is projected to open in early 2019.

Though INTEGRIS is leading this charge, we certainly do not stand alone in our efforts. Arcadia Trails is a $46 million project in which INTEGRIS is investing $11 million in land and construction dollars. The remaining $35 million will be funded through an ambitious philanthropic campaign led by passionate community members. As of the groundbreaking, the silent campaign secured more than half its goal – $23.1 million – from supporters located in Ardmore to Enid, Tulsa to Oklahoma City, Ada to Miami, Durant to Duncan. This philanthropic effort represents our largest fundraising initiative in INTEGRIS history.

INTEGRIS is proud to lead the way in this effort to improve the lives of affected patients and their families.
