Well-being and Work-Life Balance

Earlier this year we were pleased with what we learned about our organization through you via the One Voice Survey. You might recall, though, a few areas of improvement were revealed; one of which was work-life balance. The well-being of our co-workers is key to doing what we do. Many of us spend our work hours in high-stress, high-pressure situations, caring for severely ill patients, making difficult decisions, and managing multiple duties and assignments. Your commitment to your jobs is evident in everything you do, and truly, we wouldn’t be the highly respected health care provider we are without you. It’s important, though, that you’re able to walk away from those roles when your shifts are over and recharge in a healthy, positive way that adds joy and meaning to your life.

When the results of the One Voice Survey showed us we have an opportunity to do better, work began across the organization to develop a comprehensive plan. We have groups working on a multi-dimensional approach to reach team members at all levels, including our physicians and advanced practice providers. Attending to the well-being of all members of our INTEGRIS family is a natural extension of For you. For health. For life. – For us. Because the old adage is true: if we don’t take care of ourselves, we can’t take care of others, not our patients, not our families, not each other.

Employee Wellness and Human Resources, along with the Physician Well-being Collaborative, are taking the lead on this exciting endeavor, so be on the lookout for more information coming soon. In the meantime, take a few minutes to breathe deeply, go on a sunrise walk, or just turn on your favorite tunes and have a dance party with your kids. Be silly. Be contemplative. Be yourself. Be well.
