Occupational Therapy

INTEGRIS occupational therapists are passionate about helping you with physical, developmental or emotional disabilities.

Helping you get accustomed to the new “everyday.”

Understanding “OT”

It might sound like an occupational therapist is someone that helps you learn how to do your job, but in reality, occupational therapy (OT) is all about helping you with physical, developmental or emotional disabilities so you can lead an independent, productive and satisfying life.

INTEGRIS occupational therapists are certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association, hold a master’s or doctoral degree and are part of our multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. They’re responsible for many different facets of rehabilitation:

  • Evaluating children with developmental or neuromuscular problems and planning treatments that will help them grow mentally, socially and physically.
  • Assisting adults in learning how to carry out activities of daily living (ADLs) at home, on the job and in the community.
  • Helping the elderly adjust to the special problems of aging while remaining physically and mentally active.
  • Recommending changes in layout and design of the home, school or workplace to allow people with disabilities greater access and mobility.
  • Teaching energy conservation and work simplification methods.
  • Improves communication skills, such as reading, writing, and using the telephone.
